If you are sending a tip. Say so in the message and tell us what you need. We do not publish a source’s identity, and we do not publish a claim we cannot link to a primary source — which means a tip usually starts a conversation rather than a story. This form is ordinary email at the far end, not a secure drop; do not send anything through it that would put you at risk.
If you are reporting an error. Point at the claim and the page. A claim without a working citation is not supposed to exist on this site, so a broken one is a defect we want to know about.
